The second phase (2007 – 2011) of investment programme for the modernisation and expansion of the natural gas transmission system. It includes approximately 930 km of new high pressure gas pipelines.
The project forms part of the Croatian national energy plan for the expansion of the national gas transmission system in order to meet the expected growth in gas demand and reinforce the security of gas supply.
A number of Environmental impact studies are being carried out for the various sections of the new gas pipelines. It will be verified during appraisal that the overall EIA process is in line with the EU acquis on Environmental Impact and in particular with regard to public consultation.
All main contracts will be procured through international competitive bidding, in line with the EIB requirements.

Complaints mechanism
Any complaint regarding alleged maladministration can be lodged via the EIB Complaints Mechanism. The European Ombudsman acts as an independent external accountability mechanism of the EIB.
Zero tolerance against fraud and corruption
