Description

The project concerns investments in the water and wastewater infrastructure, public administration and research facilities in La Rioja, Spain.

Objectives

The project will contribute to pollution abatement and improving the quality of water. The rehabilitation and construction of the new Palace of Justice building is expected to positively contribute to the regeneration and revitalisation of its neighborhood in Logroño The expansion and strengthening of the teaching and research facilities of the University of La Rioja will contribute to the common European Higher Education Area and the European Research Area.

Environmental aspects

The project consists of a number of investments in water, wastewater and public buildings. It is expected to have significant positive impacts on the environment. Compliance with EIA Directive, SEA Directive 2001/42/EC, Directive 97/11/EC (EIA), Directive 92/43/EC (Habitats) and Directive 2009/147/EC (Birds) amongst other EU directives will be assessed during appraisal.

Procurement

Procurement for this project falls under directive 2004/17/EC and 2004/18/EC. Compliance of the promoter with these directives will be assessed during appraisal.
