Promoter – Financial Intermediary

UNICREDIT LEASING SPA,UNICREDIT SPA

Location

Description

The operation will finance projects carried out by sustainable small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) and/or mid-caps in Italy. At least 20% of the total loan amount will be dedicated to Climate Action projects.

Additionality and Impact

The operation will provide funding to the promoter, UniCredit S.p.A. ("UC"), with the aim of generating additional lending to Italian SMEs (60%) and MidCaps (40%), which is still at sub-optimal level.

The operation foresees that at least 20% of the loans will be dedicated to Climate Action projects: it is envisaged that the 40% MidCap share will facilitate the deployment of larger CA projects which wouldn't be implemented by SMEs.

The facility includes eligible minibonds (unrated and unlisted) or basket bonds issued by SMEs/MidCaps which will contribute to enable access to credit markets for eligible SMEs/MidCaps, to further diversify their sources of funding.

Objectives

The aim is to enhance access to finance for the target beneficiaries.
