Description
The EU treaties entrust the EIB with supporting the reduction of regional disparities in the Union, notably by financing projects in less-developed EU regions. The Evaluation Division of the EIB evaluated how the Bank achieved this objective for the period 2007-2018. This evaluation examined in particular 19 projects financed by the EIB in less-developed regions of Italy, Poland, Portugal, Romania and Slovakia. These projects are assessed in terms of their relevance and performance, with a specific attention to their contribution to these regions’ economic development.
