Complaint
On 21 November 2017, the EIB Complaints Mechanism (EIB-CM) received a complaint from several citizens alleging major negative impacts on the environment, the existence of threats to people's health and negative consequences on businesses and on the local economy. Furthermore, the complainants allege that the town of Melendugno, where the project will materialize, is being besieged by security measures.
EIB-CM action
Since the project was still under appraisal at the time of the receipt of the complaint, the EIB-CM has transferred the complainant's message to the operational services of the EIB, which will consider the complainant's concerns and provide a formal response.
