Construction of the first tramway line linking Cosenza Rende and the University of Calabria with a length of 10.5 km and 25 stops and the subsequent acquisition of rolling stock under FWL Regione Calabria Convergenza 2007-2013

Ziele

The project is expected to improve effectiveness and attractiveness of public transport thus contributing to the limitation of excessive reliance on private cars and improving urban environment.

Umweltaspekte

The new tramway line falls under Annex II of the consolidated EIA Directive. Accordingly, the need for a full EIA is decided by the Competent Authority. In this case, based on the outcomes of a preliminary environmental study and following Annex III criteria, the project has been screened-out. All the environmental aspects will be checked at appraisal stage.

Auftragsvergabe

The Bank will require the Promoter to ensure that contracts for the implementation of the project shall be tendered in accordance with the relevant applicable EU procurement legislation, with publication of tender notices in the EU Official Journal, as and where appropriate.
